The physical examination is the most important aspect of the Annual Wellness Visit. With every annual visit, the Dr. Craig will perform a comprehensive exam of your pet. This includes the ears, eyes, teeth, skin, as well as several other body systems. The examination is a vital part of assessing and maintaining your pet’s overall health. In addition to the physical exam, other diagnostic testing may be recommended to ensure the health of your pet. Complete blood chemistries can provide a “window” to the inside and help in the prevention and early detection of some diseases.
Another aspect of the Annual Wellness Visit is the Dr. Craig will discuss your pet’s personal needs to achieve optimum health. A complete history will be taken, and recommendations will be made to help promote the human-animal bond. A Heart worm/Ehrlichia screen (dogs only), as well as an intestinal parasite exam will be performed at this time. Vaccinations will also be given at this time based on your pet’s specific needs.
